About 12:30 I thought I’d take a picture of the season’s first snow:
Things carried on pretty much in this vein for a while, until about 90 minutes later I suddenly noticed a gap in the low clouds through which I could see blue sky and a puffy cumulus cloud.
Never seen anything quite like that before.read “there’s a hole in the sky”

Snowfall began early in the afternoon of Saturday January 22, and it continued to snow heavily through most of the weekend, with hurricane-force gusts of wind.
