i created a tv show
that captured the hearts and minds of americas youth
lived in a lair like batman
down in a deep dark hole
and i never told anyone the truth
i put their hearts and minds on ice
right next to my white mice
and my collection of bubble gum trading cards
that’s what i did with all their minds and hearts
kids grew up in seasons
sleepwalking through my tv dream
promises and betrayals
choreographed according to the screen
they grew up and they all got jobs
i turned them into working slobs
cheaters and abusive boozers
entire nation full of losers

robbed of all their inspiration
trapped within my slow damnation
