UPS Store in Davis Square

The folks at the UPS Store in Davis Square have been absolutely great since I’ve been using their services. They’re nicer than they have to be and consistently put in more than the minimum required effort. This pertickeler customer really, truly appreciates it. Rah, rah, rah, and a thank-you-very-much.

I have used their services, too. Nice folks. The Davis Square post office is also a pretty nice place, though there is often a slow-moving line when I go there. (Don’t tell on him, but I saw one man working there say plainly and authoritatively to a customer, “We’re not allowed to give out tape,” and then proceed to tape up the customer’s package, without so much as a word or a glance or any sort of acknowledgement, a few moments later. Maybe I misread the exchange, but I don’t think so.) Anyway, there must be something about handling package shipping in Davis Square that makes people pleasant… or maybe pleasant people are just drawn to the package shipping industry in our hamlet.

I usually go to the Cambridge USPS at Porter — shorter lines, and not only will I vouch for those folks, I’ve seen them help people tape up packages, too.

But yeah, I hesitate to go into specifics about why I’m so ebullient about the UPS folks today, coz it wouldn’t be fair to them to have lotsa people walking in demanding a given special treatment, or worse, to have somebody who did me a favor get disciplined for it by some higher up. So the karma I spread is vague. But no less sincere.
