What I got called today
18 October 2006, 7:22 pm“Freshman [f-ing] faggot!”
I would have given good odds against anyone calling me a “freshman” ever again, and it pretty much made my day.
Er, I mean
“Come back here and say that to my face, you sophomore!”
What’s the context? Oh, I see it’s tagged to bike safety. So this was from a motorist? That’s pretty great.
I gather Amy’s got you workin’ that youthful glow again…
This is how I feel when I get carded, except then I think sometimes the intent is to be especially polite or to flatter me–not to insult me. I’ll have to store that one in my bag of fun-pseudo-insults (the freshman part, that is).
Other potential pseudo-insults for Doug that may or may not actually apply:
Velocepedist!
Literate ass!
Chemical engineer!
American tool!
Library-cardholding nitwit!
Thumbsucker!
Actually, it was from a bicyclist who took issue with my expression of displeasure at his cycling protocol.
My most recent verbal exchange with a motorist went like this:
Ez, at first I thought you wrote “American Idol!” I like that one, myself.
That most recent verbal exchange was with a Boston driver? Sounds way too civil…
I was pleasantly surprised by that as well. i think the first thing i said was, “You need to watch where you’re going, sir.” Perhaps that little honorific helped things get off on the right off.
Me, too.
