31 December 2006, 2:18 pmWhy does this happen to me every year?? Most of my friends that pay attention to this sort of thing have already finished their year’s-best-music mixes. I still have a list of releases I have yet to hear but suspect could be contenders, and a list of records I’ve heard, but need to listen to more to determine their contendership or lack thereof.
And it’s not like I haven’t tried to stay on top of it this year. In fact, since mid-February I’ve been regularly updating a running list of year’s-best-music candidates, and I feel like the only difference between 2005 is that the final list may be less skewed toward what’s been in heavy rotation toward the end of the year.
Sigh. End of January 2007 is my current target.
